The truth is they are both incredibly beneficial and share most of the same benefits. However, research suggests, they both have advantages over the other: Oscillating vibration is said to be better for weight loss, improving balance and core strength, toning the midsection and improving mobility in the lumbar area. Vertical vibration is said to be better for toning the legs and lower part of the body and the arms and shoulders when doing upper body exercises, increasing bone density and improving blood circulation and lymphatic drainage. In many cases it also comes down to personal preference of what you enjoy using and what makes you feel good. Q. How do we choose between different brands of machines available on the market?
A. There are a wide range of machines available on the market ranging from a few hundred dollars up to $15,000 and in most cases, particularly at the lower end of the market; you get what you pay for.
If you're purchasing a home use model in the lower end of the market it can be very confusing because many of the machines look similar but the quality is usually vastly different. You want to make sure you get a machine that has good features, is user friendly, well designed and with a strong construction. Check the weight capacity and warranty; it's usually a good indication of the quality of the construction, engineering and motor. If possible, try out the machine before buying and see how it feels on the body. Different machines that look similar can feel very different depending on how they're built. And very important is to consider the company behind the product, do they seem reputable and are they going to stand behind you if anything goes wrong.
If you're looking for a more expensive machine or a commercial model you start to see much bigger differences in what is available in terms of features and functionality. The most established companies sell their commercial machines upwards of $10,000 and a large part of this is to fund all the research studies that they commission. Now that the technology is becoming more accepted, many smaller companies are able to offer similar quality machines at much more affordable prices. When purchasing a premium machine look at the features and functionality and what it's capable of and once again try it out if possible.
At Health Station we strive to bring you innovative and top quality WBV machines at a price that won't break the bank. The new Health Station Platinum is a world first and has a combination of features and functions unmatched by any other company and at a fraction of the price of other leading machines.
